Curtis C. Brown, Jr.

Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining Meritage Financial, Inc., Curtis was the President and COO of EQIS, an early stage cloud-based software-as-a-services asset management technology platform. He has been a consultant to financial advisors and managers of major investment firms. Curtis spent over thirty years with the investment firm of Merrill Lynch in a variety of leadership positions, including Managing Director, National Sales Manager, Regional Managing Director, and Special Assistant to the Chairman and President. Curtis attended the Investment Banking Institute and an advanced Leadership Program at Wharton, University of Pennsylvania. He holds an MBA from National University, San Diego, and a BA degree from San Diego State University.

Sheldon R. Barker

President, Co-Founder

Prior to starting Meritage Financial, Inc., Sheldon had a 30 year career in retirement plan sales, marketing and administration as well as pension investments. Sheldon was involved in the direct sales and marketing of retirement plans to companies, professional corporations, national and state medical associations and other affinity organizations. Sheldon managed the sale and distribution of retirement plans through financial advisors of large financial institutions. Sheldon attended Penn State University, Duquesne Law School and studied ERISA through an adjunct program at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds various securities licenses and professional certifications.

Jonathan "Jonno" Alcaro

COO, Treasurer and Co-Founder

Prior to starting Meritage Financial, Inc., Jonno had a 30 year career in the retail brokerage industry in many management capacities in wire house and regional firms alike. He was also a Co-Founder, Director and EVP of YellowPages.com until its sale to what is now AT&T. Jonno holds BA and MBA degrees from Lehigh University.

Peter M. Susko

Chief Administrative Officer

Prior to joining Meritage Financial, Peter's career experience involved more than 30 years in a variety of roles as a Chief Financial Officer, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, and Attorney. He has a unique combination of financial, legal and investment skills. He also brings extensive experience with investment funds and institutional and high net worth investors, including specialized skills in financial structuring, developing systems and models, fund operations, taxation and investments. Peter has worked at Deutsche Bank as a Director in the Portfolio Management and Transactions Groups; A Registered Investment Advisor, Capital Strategies Group; Spring Creek Advisors, an Investment Management Company; and Lighthouse Capital Partners. Peter's credentials include a BA degree from the University of Rochester, MBA from UC Berkeley, and J.D. from UCLA.
